Especially Interesting: A Neuro-Affirming Social Space

Welcome! Especially Interesting is a social group specifically designed for autistic teens ages 12-17 who want to connect in an authentic, neuro-affirming way. Instead of focusing on "performing" neurotypical social skills, we prioritize connecting through the things you love most: your special interests.

This group was created as an intentional alternative to traditional social skills training. Here, we celebrate the way our brains work rather than trying to change them.

We meet every other week on Saturdays from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm CST. RSVP forms will be updated directly following each meeting. Each meeting is $35.

I look forward to meeting you! I am so excited to create this community with you. Whether you want to talk about anime, K-pop, coding, or the deep lore of your favorite series, this is your space to "info dump" in a safe and welcoming way!

What to Expect

This is a safe space where you are encouraged to be your authentic self. In our meetings, you can:

Unmask: No pressure to perform eye contact or "typical" social cues.
Info-Dump: Take dedicated turns sharing deep-dives into your favorite topics.
Take Breaks: Step away or turn off your camera whenever you need to regulate.
Connect: Meet others who share a passion for learning and specialized knowledge.

How to Join

Once you RSVP, I will respond via email with:

A confirmation of your attendance.
An update on how many peers have already signed up for that session (There is a limit of 10 attendees per meeting).
More information about what to expect, as well as a link for the virtual meeting.
